I wanted to ask Mrs Biggin if she has got copies of any photographs which were taken during my time at the school, 2000-2003. I know they used to be on the website but they seem to have been removed.

Many Thanks

I'm sorry Danielle - we do try to put on photos of just about everything that goes on at school, but sometimes the photos aren't good enough - those taken in the hall are particularly difficult, as they're very dark. You did leave some years ago, and maybe there was a problem with pictures. Have a great summer!!

hi there,

I was just browsing around and i came across this. For such a small school it's a very advanced website! - i'm an ex-pupil, 20 now. heh the years do go fast.

I'm studying at the University of Essex now, doing Electronic Systems Engineering, if anyone's interested. I doubt anyone will remember me nowadays, but just thought i'd say hi.

Keep rolling out the quality education, and thanks

Thank you to everyone for making me so welcome during my little visit on Monday 24th.
It was great to see how everyone is getting on and particularly to see the poise and confidence of Year 6 in their Leavers' Service.
I was quite amazed by your wonderful new buildings - they are truly impressive.
Good luck to you all for next year; especially to Year 6 (Year 7 in September!) in your new secondary schools.

Best wishes from Mrs. Vian

Hello everyone. I'm writing this from Osmington Bay ICT suite. We're all very busy not doing school work and having fun. I think the zip wire has been the favourite activity of the week so far. It was quite scary. The children are really looking forward to an activity called Jacob's Ladder. I'll let you know how we get on later. See you all soon.

Congratulations on a really first class website. I was a former pupil of the school and will be eternally grateful for the start it gave me on my educational career path. My first taste of doing French at Wickhambreaux and going on the school French trip started my love of languages and I went on to do modern languages at university. I have very fond memories of the school and my class of five was the smallest ever I think ! I only wish I could send my eighteen month old to the school but the commute from Norwich every day would be a bit far ! Well done to you all on the website.

I have had a really fun time in Wales and hope to see you all after half term!
I think the most fun thing was raft building because we all got soaked. The biggest challenge was sharing a room with Emily, Lydia and Danielle. We tried to phone people at home but we couldn't remember your numbers! It was really great and my advice for people going in the near future is...TRY YOUR HARDEST AT EVERY THING and remember HAVE FUN!

The most enjoyable years of my life were at Wickhambreaux. Before I begin I would just like to say a big well done to those ho took part in the tag rugby. they were intense matches just to watch, let alone play in. I hope all the teachers who were there when I was and those now are just fine. same goes to the pupils I have missed Wickhambreaux greatly and have had the downer of my SATS recently, as I no some of you have. Sandwich is a great school and any of you who are coming next year will have as much pleasure and guidance as I have. I hope to see you soon. You may not realise it now but the school you are in is great. Enjoy it now while you are still there. See you all soon. Luv Emily B.

Hello to everyone especially Class 2,
We are having a great time in Papua New Guinea, and we have made lots of friends. The teachers are great. We are both in the school netball team. At the weekends we go to the beach, go fishing or play with our friends. We have experienced some earth tremors. The houses shook and the saucepans in the kitchen rattled. We were safe though. But it was a bit scarey.
Take care and have fun, Rachael and Sam

Hi everyone!
It's me again! Thank-you Mr Campling for reading my message! I'd love it if some people wrote to me. My e-mail address is robbiejoice@yahoo.co.uk. Today at school we had like a Mini Olympics. We all had countries ( my 6th grade class were mexico! ) the kindergarden were England! After we had finished our activities we got medals! When the diffrent countries came up they played their national anthems ( it was nice hearing Englands national anthem! ). Tell Class 3 hi from me!

Hi Wickhambreaux!
It's great in the USA! I found a private Christian school and it is GREAT! I have made 9 friends already! Everyone in my school loves my accent, even the teachers! Our teacher ( Mr. Facundo ) is so nice, he is just like Mr Campling! I look at the Osmington Bay DVD often to remember all my friends and teachers. I still keep in touch with some of my friends via e-mail or phone. Keep updating the website because I love seeing pictures of my friends! I say hello to everyone in Wickhambreaux and good luck for the new year!

Miss you lots

Hope everyone has a wonderful summer - see you all in September.

Farewell Wickhambreaux my time is done
'cos now my studies have just begun.
It makes me sad but I know I must go
Life is a challenge with its highs and lows.

I was lead by Mrs Lodge when I first arrived
We laughed so much and even cried.
I owe her more than she will ever know
She nurtured me and helped me grow.

Mrs Campling is a wonderful head
This is backed up by our FAB OFSTED!!
Thank you Ann because, you made me,
see the potential to set me free.

Now children can you listen to me
If you work hard you will see
how much happier your life will be.
Enjoy school life it's not hard to do
Work hard, play hard and you will get through.

The rest of the staff , you know who you are
I will miss our great team, but I'll not be far.
Thanks once again for wishing me well
I don't want to go as you can tell.

Finally Mr Campling what can I say
Why was I scared on your first day?
We have had a laugh, the kids have too
You even taught me 6 7's are 42!!
You taught me not to let my dreams go by
That is why i must say GOODBYE.

(Site Manager)..........................Well Caroline, you are a poet, and don't know it!!

Seriously, thank you for all your input into the school and on the website!!! You will achieve all your goals in life, because you have determination and spirit!!

You will be missed, but we wish you well at university!!

Appologies, a few technical problems (no internet access at Osmington Bay, as they are currently changing over to broadband). However!!!!!!!! Dear Wickhambreaux School
Thank you so much for the time, dedication, encouragement and education that you have given to Natalie and Grant. I am so proud to have been part of Wickhambreaux School and to watch it move from strength to strength. It feels like the end of an era now that Grant leaves your care and moves onto his next phase of education. I would like to thank you all for giving him a most wonderful start. Special thanks go to Mrs Campling for taking the school into the future in such a way that we can all be very proud, to Mrs Lodge for being a most caring and wonderful teacher and friend and to Mrs Crosby, the most dedicated Senco Teacher that has given strategies and encouragement and help where needed.
Thank you very much, and best wishes for the future

All credit to Mrs Lodge, Caroline, John and Dave for helping to make their time away so memorable.

Many thanks to the Staff and helpers who have given up their time for our children. It is lovely to get such positive feedback.

My sister Debbie and I (from Stodmarsh) were pupils in the early to mid 70's and I have wonderful memories of my time there, Maypole Dancing, Harvest Festival's, Sport's Day's, visits from My Tyler (the Vicar), etc. I just wish that every child could have the opportunity of going to such a warm and caring school and I hope that one day my children and their children's children could go too!

(SITE MANAGER)- Well!! What lovely comments, I couldn't agree more with you!

George Gimber
27 July 2002 00:00:00
I'm currently researching my family history which brought me to Wickhambreaux village during the Jubilee week.

Wickhambreaux is where my father and his brother lived (Whites Cottages) and attended your school before the war.

After discovering your web site I was most interested in its history and the extracts from the school log books that I found there.

My immediate interest is with George Gimber's birth date and school records which I'm sure you must still have. George was known to be quite clever but unfortunately died very young (believed to be aged 8 or so) and do not have much information about him. All I have is a certificate of merit for an essay he wrote. The Certificate was dated 16th July 1921. George was my father's brother who also attended your school probably around 1924, his name was Stanley Gimber.

Is it possible that you can help with my research?

(SITE MANAGER)- Lovely to hear from you George. Can anyone help with this enquiry?

Well times Change don?t they.
I was a pupil a few years back. (Actually about 10 but who?s counting).
I just took a look around your website and I am impressed with what I saw.
My congratulations to all the staff you have a magnificent school.
I think having an Archive page for all the old pupils is a great idea (well done Kara)
I don?t remember much at all about my primary school years but of one thing I am certain my years at Wickhambreaux School were by far the best I have ever known.
(Just in case you read this Kara the Red team was by far the greatest)

I was fortunate today to be asked to accompany Class 1 to the Canterbury Environmental Centre. The day was full of very exciting new adventures, least of all the sighting of Sebastian Swan! I would like to say a thank you to Jo who took care of us for the day and to the children who are a credit to Mrs McKay and the school.

As a full time working Mum I don't often have the opportunity to attend such events, so today was extra special for me, however the fact we have this wonderful award winning website, which offers such a great source of information of all school life and keeps us up to date with what our children are doing is just fantastic!

(SITE MANAGER)- Thank you for your comments Kelly, and we are glad you enjoyed your day.

Wow what a great website, I used to go to this school and looking at all the photos brought back a lot of happy memories I also did my secondary school work experience here and had a great time (1995). I hope everyone realises how lucky they are to go to such a good school! Maybe you could add some old photos to the gallery as it would be nice to see some old faces! (1985 - 1992)
Especially when the yellow team won sports day!!!!

(SITE MANAGER) - Thank you Kara for your kind comments, and your suggestion about an old photo gallery is excellent idea. Has anyone got any old photos that we could borrow?

I would like to say THANK YOU the school for introducing the lunchtime crazes. I think they are wonderful and fun, varied and interesting for all of the children, from the reception year through to the 6th year. Lunchtimes as we know can be difficult for many children. This is proving to be such a saving grace for both of my children as I'm sure it is for the all of the other children and I for one would like to say THANK YOU. I hope that they will continue for many more lunchtimes to come.

(SITE MANAGER)- Thank you Toni, I agree with you and it's lovely for the school to get such positive feedback.

I am an ICT teacher at a secondary school. I have looked at your site and it is excellent. Well done!

The standard of your school is obviously very good and the site advertises this and presents the school to the general public very well.

I have JUST started our school website through www.schools.ik.com (having visited the BETT 2002 Exhibition). Although I have set the colour scheme to match our school colours, I would like to know how you managed to insert images/photos of your school along the blue bar (top/left). I also noticed a Hitcounter as I came onto your site. How did you achieve this, as I have tried to do the same and have failed. I would be very grateful if you would reply to me and let me know.

Thanks

JAPANESE FESTIVAL

I had the pleasure of attending the Japanese Festival with classes two and three today and what a wonderful day it was. I am very proud to have witnessed such wonderful behaviour, impeccable manners and politeness from the children of our school. Well done to you all.

As the Mother of Liberty and Harriet, who have been at Wickhambreaux for 5/6 years and a former pupil myself, I wish to give a huge thank you to Naomi Robertson for the artistic stimulation she has bought to the school in the last term. Harriet especially enjoyed the preparation for the 'Cats' performance. Keep in touch!
